Hmmm… I see men hugging all the time, all around me. It must be skewed by my proximity to theatre folks.
Although I just took an unscientific survey of my biotech coworkers and they tell me that man-hugging is based on duration of relationship. The longer they’ve known a friend the more likely they are to hug when they see each other. Also, it’s generally okay with brothers… if they are close.
Don’t get me wrong, man-hugging is great and it’s everywhere. I just thought it was interesting that it took so long to get to the Defense department.
