Inevitably, Elizabeth Edwards is on Oprah today.

It’s worth those of us in the political press keeping in mind that while very few real people are paying any attention to what we say and write at this stage in the game, Elizabeth’s illness remains by far the biggest story of the presidential cycle for the real Americans, and voters, who watch daytime television, the local news, and the other programming that people who aren’t obsessed with politics actually watch.
