When we last left Joe Biden., he was talking about how running for President didn’t hold a candle to the idea of making sweet, sweet love to his wife:
“I’d rather be at home making love to my wife while my children are asleep,” he said.
Biden’s PAC spokeman, Larry Rosky, said the line illustrates that “this is not an egostistical pursuit for him” and that he is “frankly totally in love with his wife.”
Now that he’s actually running for President, Biden has toned it down a bit. Take this Maureen Dowd interview. When asked what his ideal day is, he says:
“It would be corny,” he said. “Just taking off to the beach with Jill.”
The beach?! Lest you worry that someone took Joey’s Viagra away, fear not. He’s still got time to sneak in a my-wife’s-really-hot reference:
Trying to boost his dented confidence, I said I was sure he looked better in the Delaware waves than Barack Obama in the Hawaiian surf. The 64-year-old laughed, saying, “Like the Paul McCartney song, ‘When I’m 64.’ I don’t look as good as I once did, but Jill does.”
And don’t you forget it.
