Some Men, You Just Can’t Reach

Posted by Matski on November 24th, 2006

Just back from my Black Friday trip to the shopping mall, readying for Turkey, The Nap (Pt. II), when I saw this bit in the Gray Lady about Bush’s appointment to head family planning at HHS.

Before his appointment, Dr. Keroack served as the medical director of A Woman’s Concern, a network of pregnancy counseling clinics across Massachusetts whose method of trying to dissuade women from having an abortion includes spreading the scary and medically inaccurate myth that having an abortion steeply increases the risk of breast cancer. The group also has a policy against dispensing contraception even to married women. It has stated on its Web site that the distribution of contraceptive drugs or devices is “demeaning to women, degrading of human sexuality and adverse to human health and happiness.”

As if the legacy of Michael Brown and Bush’s midterm ass-whuppin’ [note: doesn't that still sting?] weren’t enough, now we have a joker of Thabo Mbeki proportions set to lead women’s health for 5 million poor Americans.

I saw a calendar at the mall — The George W. Bush “Only Two More Years” calendar — commemorating Dufus’s gaffes and helping us all count down to the day when this incompetent buffoon finally gets to graduate from the very public clown college he’s been sending us all through. Now you know what I want for Christmas.

[Thanks, Strother Martin, for the classic line referenced in this post's title.]
