“The Republicans Are in Disarray”

Apparently you have to cross the pond to read the above phrase in a news article. Aside from the typical British misuse of the word “neocon” (c’mon guys: it can’t possibly refer to both a shadowy cadre of New York Jewish intellectuals and Tom DeLay! Pick one!), the article lays out a positive trend for those of us who have visions of a Democratic house: party switches.

In 1994, just before the GOP takeover of the house, many endangered Southern Democrats switched parties in an effort to save their seats. Now it looks like the reverse is happening. Suddenly it’s cool to be a Democrat. Who’d a thunk it?
