Lost in all the talk about Republican scandals is the sad-but-true fact that the current Republican government has out-Democrated the Dems at their own traditional game of redistributive politics. What’s even sadder is that this massive spending has done so little to truly help the less fortunate among us. When coupled with corporate tax cuts (which freed up the money to allow corporations to offshore more and more of their lower-skilled jobs AND saddled America with debts it will take three generations to pay off), the legacy of this badly misguided spending will be a tragic one of lost opportunity.
