These guys just cant keep their hands out of the honey pot, can they?
It’s been a bad Thanksgiving for the GOP machine, what with Michael Scanlon ready to sing like a bird on allegations he and Ralph Reed and Jack Abramoff worked the Indian tribes for suckers.
Note to Democrats: be careful with these hot potatoes. The Republicans are savvy. They know that all these scandals haven’t resulted in a huge swing of Democratic support. They know that the public’s mind still associates these scams with “congress” and “Washington” in general, and not the GOP in particular. A reform message won’t be enough. The GOP will simply (yet ironically) nominate McCain in ‘08 and promise to clean up its own house. And Abramoff, Reed, et. al. will just go back to business as usual.
Now Playing: Episode 349
Troops needed in Afghanistan end up in Iraq, Obama punts on the FISA bill, and finally: the Supremes rule on the 2nd amendment.
Links Mentioned: The hunt for Bin Laden … the new Army Iraq report … the FISA bill … the Prof references Chinua Achebe and The Lives of Others … the Genarlow Wilson aftermath.

Shh! Don’t tell Daily Kos, but there’s more than enough fodder in a typical Bruno & the Prof show to infuriate your typical lefty.
Nevertheless, a few of these things are blatantly contradictory, aren’t they? A few quibbles:
No. 1: If conservatives have taught us that lesson, these days they don’t seem much interested in applying it, do they? All you hear from them is that “change is good, choice is good,” and that the Democrats are “the party of no” and “don’t have any ideas,” just because they oppose the GOP’s bad ideas.
No. 4: Do conservatives really believe that education and health care are best left to the public sector? Seems to me they’re interested in privatizing them as much as possible, no?
No. 5: The yellow pages are chock-full of ads for Doctors, which, according to No. 4, is best left to the public sector.
No. 8: Vouchers. See No. 4.
Other than that, yeah, I’m down…
