Who left Junior alone long enough to nominate Miers? And who’ll replace Greenspan?

As I speculate on our latest episode, I have a hard time believing that Miers was anyone’s call but Bush’s, and Bush’s alone. Makes me laugh thinking of the argument Cheney and Rove must’ve had after the Miers howler:
Dick: “I thought you were watching him?”
Karl: “Nyuh-uh. Mondays are YOUR day to watch him!”
Given Bush’s propensity to appoint buddies to positions of responsibility, I’m more than slightly fearful for who he might select to replace Greenspan.
If the Miers nomination is any indication, we can expect a close chum of El Jefe’s, notable mostly for his/her utter lack of experience or demonstrable skill. While I expect Dick and Karl will BOTH be on duty that day, if they’re not, America could be in serious trouble in ‘06.
Now Playing: Episode 366
Obama staffs up, Detroit comes to DC and finally, Iraq and the US come to a security agreement.
