The Simpson’s would post this great graphic whenever Kent Brockman’s newscast got interupted by some shenanigans. The graphic featured a camera operator holding a bottle of booze and looking pretty well in cups.

I think maybe I’d like to run that graphic over my premature quasi-endorsement of I-330.

As has been pointed out to me by several listeners (thanks, Pete), I-330 is a troubled bill. While I’m not overly concerned by its limitations on “pain and suffering” damages (since when is the legal system the most effective means to accomplish wealth redistribution?), what does trouble me is the provision in the proposal that would force patients to sign away a right to sue in order to recieve treatment. I’m not even sure this is constitutional. Still, why bother waiting for the test case. Vote no on this bill and support candidates who support universal health care.
