The President’s approval rating in Rhode Island is 29%, with a disapproval of 70%. That 41-point gap is the highest of any state in the nation. So if you’re Sen. Lincoln Chafee, and you’re running for re-election in ‘06, you have two options:
1. Become an Independent (like fellow blue-state New Englander Jim Jeffords)
2. Douse your website in so much green and blue that maybe, just maybe, people will forget you’re from the “red” party.
