Space Shuttle Discovery sits poised to return to the heavens.
While space exploration is an unquestionably noble aim — presenting, far in the future though it may be, the next, best great hope for accessible wealth creation — it’s time for NASA to end this 24 year-old boondoggle once and for all. There are far cheaper methods for getting humans and their equipment into space. Time to revisit them.
