Every once a decade, or so it seems, something actually changes on the political makeup of the Abortion debate. As the two major political parties continue to dance around the issue, something odd and… interesting… is happening.

On the right, Ken Mehlman has asked a pro-choicer to co-chair the RNC. And simultaneously, Nanci Pelosi and Harry Reid are supporting a pro-lifer to chair the DNC.

This is odd, isn’t it? Simultaneously both sides are testing their respective committee chairmanships for unorthodox views on Abortion? Is this the beginning of a detente?

Weird.
