I don’t have enough first-hand knowledge to judge the performance of the Governator, though I have commented in the past on my support for his support of independent legislative districts in CA.
Over the weekend, he did an interview on CNN (I can’t find the transcript online), where he got the question about whether he’d run for President if they amended the constitution. His answer was surprisingly forthright. He used the metaphor of a movie (Ok, ok, maybe that’s the only metaphors he knows, but let’s look aside that for a moment), saying something like, “I don’t think about it at all. It’s like a movie: you focus on the movie you’re working on at the moment, and if it’s successful, then your future will be laid out for you, so why worry about it?”
I guess I found it refreshing because it was the first time I’d heard a politican admit that their future ambitious might have something to do with their present successes.
