David Brooks is still admonishing Democrats to become compromisers. After NCLB, after the Medicare Presctription Drug Act, after the Homeland Security Act… after President Bush and the GOP congress has repeatedly used offers of bipartisanship to wipe its corporate-fed ass, Brooks still thinks that only the Democrats who still fall for that “uniter-not-a-divider” B.S. are worth their salt.
I do agree that all-out war with the GOP is a loser right now, in this 52/48 nation. But there are ways to wage asymmetric war that have nothing to do with compromise (like going local!).
