Drudge headline this morning: “DEMS DEPRESSED.”

Not me. I wasn’t sure why for a while, but I’m just not that upset. I’m excited to be a true opposition party for a while. Hunker down and come up with some new ideas outside of the spotlight. Let the GOP take the heat.

I’ll tell you one thing: the GOP is bad at running the Government. I don’t just mean that in the usual snarky way. I mean that conservatives, by definition, function better when they’re in the opposition, not the majority. They don’t quite know what to do with themselves when they’re in total control of everything. The right-wing media is going to deflate pretty quickly. Where’s the rage going to come from? Are these folks (Hannity, Limbaugh, Drudge, etc.) really going to continue to claim that Hillary and Ted Kennedy are succesfully thwarting them at every turn? No way.

Drudge has been runnign these pathetic headlines “Dems Depressed” and “Dems moving to Canada,” crap like that. But that’ll fade, and then what? Who are they going to rail against? Hey guys, I’ve got news for you: you control EVERYTHING. Wanna ban abortion? Do it. Wanna put gays in exile? Go ahead. But you know what? They won’t. If they did, what would they use for fearmongering?

So sit back, grab some popcorn and watch the VRWC implode under the weight of it’s own success.
