The problem is that decriminalization is a cruel abdication of the moral issue at hand — letting third world countries descend into terror and violence so that junkies in one’s own neighborhood don’t bother anyone is a sick, twisted way to battle the war on drugs.
Legalization is the only moral recourse — either that or continue fighting the war on drugs.
