On Edwards

So those of you who listen to the show during the primaries know what big fans we are of John Edwards. So you shouldn’t be surprised that we’re thrilled that Kerry’s chosen Edwards as his running mate. Edwards is a political genius, and we’re glad he has a future in politics, at least for now.

Personally, though I do appreciate his good looks and charm and all that jazz, what really strikes me about Edwards is his knack for developing specific, tangible policies that can, at least theoretically, make a huge impact in the lives of average Americans. And he frames it in a great message about work vs. wealth.

Edwards is an all-around winner. And his selection means that the Dems are more serious than ever about going beyond Bush-beating and looking towards a progressive future well into this century.
