Hope everyone had a pleasant July 4. Mine was inspired! I spent the day at a friend of my Dad’s in New York. He has a tradition of breaking out the Declaration of Independence and asking people to take turns reading parts of it out loud. It was awesome. The whole crowd of partygoers cheered and booed on cue.
I also spent a few days down in Charlottesville, VA, at my brother’s house. My brother lives practically nextdoor to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s House, and I took my first tour of the estate while I was there. More on that on Monday’s show, for sure. I tell you one thing, if we had presidents who were as curious and ambitious as Jefferson, we’d be in much better shape today.
See you Monday at 6.
