Welcome back, Bruno . . .

Don't miss New Republic head Martin Peretz's defense of Elliot Spitzer for VP:

<a href="http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040621&s=diarist062104" rel="nofollow">http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040621&s=diarist062104</a>

It makes a lot of sense -- Spitzer's consumer-friendly persona evokes the best of what the Democrats have to offer without resorting to the "class warfare" people like Al Gore have stumbled upon. This is their ticket -- unlike the war on terror, the war in Iraq or the economy -- all of which could get better and negate any advantage Kerry has. Enron, on the other hand, will never look better no matter what you do. Spitzer could work.
